Based on the vector control principle of permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM), the
current, voltage and rotating speed and their influencing factors of the motor in the starting process was
analyzed. The linear speed-up phase in the starting process basically determines the starting time, and it
can be accelerated by increase its starting torque to the maximum value. In the current set-up phase, the
current response mainly depends on the DC voltage. A large filtering capacitor and three-phase supply is
helpful to maintain the DC voltage. Both numerical simulation and experiment verified the analyzed results.
