The parallel Bi-CG iterative method based on the element-by-element (EBE) technique is
described, which is used in the solution of Navier-Stokes equation using finite element method. This
algorithm is implemented with MPI on the Shuguang 2000 parallel system in the National High
Capable Computation Center, Chengdu. The three-dimension cavity steady flow field is simulated,
and a high speedup ratio is achieved. Because this method need not store the global matrix and save
a lot of memory, the scale of flow field problems that can be solved with FEM is increased greatly.
