Abstract: According to the investigations on the selection of transport means, the waiting times, the ticket prices and the service qualities, the railway s advantages on the passengertransportationmarkets are pointed out and the problems to be solved are given. Some useful improving measures for railway passenger trans- portation will be suggested which can be used to enhance the competitive power of railway passenger trains.
