Abstract: The necessity and feasibility of optimization of regional traffic and transportation structures are analyzed. An optimization indexing system is proposed, and then an optimization model for describing regional traffic and transportation structures is derived that is a combination of qualitative and quantitative analyses. This study is to provide a clew to optimize regional traffic and transportation systems that are usually very complicated.
