Abstract: The framework for studying revenue management in container shipping industry under uncertainty was proposed. A stochastic container slot allocation model was established, and the uncertainty of demands among ports in a sea route was taken into account in the model. The algorithm for solving the model using the method of chance constrained programming was presented. Simulation results validate the model and show that the ship capacity affects the allocation policy greatly under great demands, and that the variation of demands also has great influence on slot allocation policy.
