A Practical Algoritm for Making Train Diagram of Railway Network

Based on the analysis of the characteristics of train diagram such as the limitation of train operation track and the strong restraint between two neibouring lines, a practical solution named as time-space limited rotation method is put forward to work out the train diagram dynamically with windows designed rolling over the diagram. The train diagram produced with the use of this method is applied to make the train operation plan in 1997 and 1998. The application shows that the proposed method can solve the problems quickly with satisfactory results, and it is an effective solution for making train diagram on computer.
