Optimization of Channel Borrowing Assignment Strategies in Cellular Mobile Communication Systems

Borrowing strategy is an important strategy in channel assignment of cellular mobile communication systems and includes the early presented simple borrowing strategy and the later developed borrowing with channel ordering (BCO) and borrowing with directional channel locking (BDCL). Based on the analysis of the borrowing strategy, this paper suggestes a method to handle the location of the locked channels in the cochannel interfering cells, and clarified some confusions in the original channel assignment strategies. Furthermore, two measures are taken to optimize the algorithms of BCO and BDCL. Simulation results showthat the optimized algorithms can obviously reduce the complexity of the original algorithms for BCO and BDCL.
