Several widely-used methods for simulating track irregularities at present are
analyzed, and a new algorithm for describing the stochastic process of the railway track
irregularities is constructed based on the power spectrum density equivalency in a frequency
domain. The magnitude and randomphase ofthe frequencyspectrumare obtained respectively,
then the simulation sample in a time domain is achieved through inverse Fourier transform
(IFFT). Numerical simulation tests show that the new method is more concise and effective
than other methods.
