Abstract

Abstract

With the use of finite element method, the numerical simulation of a tunnel jet ventilation is studied by the two-dimensional incompressible steady Navier-Stokes equation. hence the aerodynamic characteristics of jet ventilation and jet ventilating system with vertical wells are obtained. For different engineering cases, the longitudinal velocity and pressure distributions along the tunnel are given. A comparison between the numerical solutions and experimental results demonstrates the effectiveness and reliability of the numerical solutions.
