A Novel High Power Factor Switching Converter with Single Stage Structure

A novel switching converterwith high input power factor is put forward. This type of converter, with a single stage structure and single duty ratio PWM control mode, can implement a dual function of power factor correction and output voltage regulation. High power factor and low input current distortion are easily obtained without complicated duty cycle modulation method. Meanwhile, detailed analyses on the converters working procedure are made, and application ofthe convertertothe electronic ballast circuits is presented additionally with experimental results for verification.
