Preview Control of Active Suspension

This paper discusses the application of preview control strategy to the active suspension system. The proposed preview control system is composed by adding a feed-forward compensator capable of utilizing the future road information for cars to the ordinary active suspension system using quadratic optimal feedback control. The preview control strategy can greatly improve the performances of the active suspension system, the advantages of which are shown by the results of a numerical simulation on computer.
