An econometric model consisting of 12 explicit formulas for analyzing the transportation
system ofSichuan province, China, was derived according to the principles ofsystems engineering and
system dynamics. Themodelwas tested in terms ofeconomic significance, statistics, econometrics and
stability, and the results verify that the it conformswith the statistical economics tes.t The statistical
data of the transportation system ofSichuan Province from 1992 to2001were taken as the inputs for the
mode.l The error rates during the dynamic simulation are less than 20%, and the error rate is4. 17%
for thewholemode,l indicating reasonable precise and stability of themode.l
