To raise the mining efficiency of fuzzy association rules, a redundant fuzzy association
rule was defined and the redundant properties of strong fuzzy association rules were analyzed. A new
algorithm to raise the mining efficiency by removing redundant fuzzy association rules was proposed.
In addition, results obtained by two algorithms,i.e., removing redundant fuzzy association rules
or not, were compared respectively with experimental results for the mining of strong fuzzy
association rules defined by support and implication degrees. The research result shows that the
algorithm of removing redundant fuzzy association rules can raise the mining efficiency.
