The error concealment technique introduced in H.26l decoder is not very effective on error
resilience of high-motion pictures. An approach, named forward error tracking, compatible with the ITU-T
video coding standard H.26L was introduced to stop the error propagation. The approach codes those
corrupted macroblocks only by intra-update at the current frame to avoid too much increase in data volume.
In addition, a newmulti-frame updating method was proposed to get smooth data stream. The experimental
result shows that this technique is effective to stop the error propagation of high-motion pictures.
