An Improved Pseudo Variable Algorithm for Structural Reliability

Abstract

Abstract

The conventional pseudo variable algorithm can not be used for structural functions consisting of dependent random variables and of high nonlinearity. An improved pseudo variable algorithm for calculating structural reliability is proposed to solve the problem. The calculation results of an example show that the improved algorithm overcomes the shortcomings of the conventional pseudo variable algorithm and is suitable for structural functions with high nonlinearity and dependent random variable
